Sassoon Roars for 33 as North Shore LIONS Weather the STORM in a 61–52 Showdown!

In a high-octane clash of intensity and pride, the North Shore Hebrew Academy LIONS tamed the Katz Yeshiva High School STORM 61–52, riding an electrifying 33-point explosion from C. Sassoon. The game had all the energy of a heavyweight bout — big plays, hot shooting streaks, and a crowd that felt every momentum swing.

From the opening whistle, Sassoon took command of the court. Whether slicing through defenders or pulling up from deep, he seemed unstoppable, scoring from every angle as the LIONS built an early lead. His confidence radiated through his teammates, with J. Cohen adding 8 points and D. Ginsberg, A. Kohanim, and B. Levian each chipping in crucial baskets that kept the offense humming.

But the STORM didn’t roll over quietly. N. Okaknin led the charge with a fearless 24 points, consistently attacking the basket and keeping Katz within striking distance. J. Kogan (12 points) and I. Attias (10 points) added steady scoring to fuel multiple comeback pushes, including a late third-quarter surge that cut the lead to just five.

Still, every time the STORM gathered momentum, the LIONS struck back — usually with Sassoon’s sure-handed jumper or a key defensive stop from Cohen. In the final minutes, North Shore’s composure at both ends of the floor sealed the deal, quieting the STORM and securing their spot in the next round.

This one belonged to C. Sassoon, whose 33-point masterpiece powered the LIONS past a tough and determined Katz squad. If North Shore keeps riding that kind of firepower, the rest of the bracket might need to watch out — because this LION is roaring loud.
