Lions Lock Down and Leave the Rams Feeling Sheepish, 32–23!

In a defensive battle between two evenly matched squads in Tier II, the #2 CESJDS Lions outlasted the #7 Posnack Rams, earning a hard-fought 32–23 victory. The Lions’ disciplined team defense and clutch scoring down the stretch proved to be the difference as they advanced to the next round.

The Lions came out steady on both ends, controlling the pace early behind senior guard C. Blumenthal, who poured in a team-high 12 points. His confident shooting gave CESJDS a slim lead heading into halftime, while J. Fisher added 8 points and steady perimeter play to keep the offense flowing. D. Shank chipped in 7 points, helping the Lions maintain offensive balance despite limited rebounding opportunities.

The Rams made several pushes behind standout scorer G. Shlomi, who led all Posnack players with 9 points, and A. Ben-Shmuel, who added 7. However, CESJDS held firm defensively, forcing tough shots and capitalizing on turnovers. L. Steindecker contributed 5 key points, including a late basket that helped cement the lead as the Lions held Posnack to just 23 total points.

With the win, the #2-seeded Lions advance, continuing their Tier II run built on defensive intensity and balanced scoring. The #7 Rams, meanwhile, showed grit and determination but couldn’t overcome CESJDS’s late-game composure.
