Pro Trainer and Strength Coach Raheem Shabbaz to Speak at Welcome Banquet!
- Updated: October 26, 2018

Once homeless, Raheem Shabazz transfomed into one of the most prominent pro trainers in the country. Standing at 6’1 and 225 lbs of pure muscle, Shabbaz was a football standout for the Ohio State Buckeyes with NFL aspirations. But a career ending injury forced his life into a downward spiral and he found himself out of school, unemployed, and sleeping in a bus station. Always the competitor on the court and in life, Shabbaz refused to give up. While he found odd jobs around town, he began training local football and basketball prospects, on the side, and out of a garage. His unique methods which combined strength and agility training made him well known and within months he had ammassed as clients some of the most well known athletes in the region – NBA stars, Division 1 football and basketball college prospects, and national Top-10 high school recruits. Shabazz was hired by Coach Penny Hardaway to train his Team Penny sqaud which has included more than 34 ESPN top 50 players and Coach Hardaway’s 2-time national champion East High School Varsity team. Shabbaz’s story is one of hope and perseverance and is sure to inspire everyone in attendance.
