Memphis Yeshiva Invitational

Top-Seeded Ohr HaTorah Dominates Cooper MACCABEES 60–39 Behind Levy’s 26!

The #1-seeded Ohr HaTorah THUNDER lived up to their top billing in Tier II play, unleashing a lightning-charged performance to defeat the #8-seeded Cooper Yeshiva High School MACCABEES 60–39. With sharpshooter Toby Levy leading the storm, Ohr HaTorah combined efficient offense and tight defense to secure a statement win and advance to the next round.

Levy was electric from start to finish, torching the nets for 26 points and setting the tone early with his relentless pace and confident shooting. Whenever Cooper began to build momentum, Levy answered with a dagger — keeping the Thunder in complete control. S. Hayyim and M. Voskovsky each added 7 points, while C. Adelman chipped in 5, showing the depth and balance that make this Thunder squad so dangerous.

For the MACCABEES, Benny Freiden led the fight with 17 points, continuing his strong tournament play, and J. Kampf added 12, providing scoring and energy through the second half. Despite their effort, Cooper struggled to match Ohr HaTorah’s tempo and couldn’t find consistent rhythm against their disciplined defensive pressure.

By halftime, the Thunder had already built a comfortable lead — and they never looked back. Crisp ball movement, quick rotations, and second-chance buckets kept the MACCABEES on their heels. When the final buzzer sounded, the scoreboard told the story: Thunder 60, MACCABEES 39.

It was a commanding performance by the tournament’s top seed — and with Levy in rhythm and the rest of the roster firing on all cylinders, the Thunder’s path through Tier II is looking brighter (and louder) than ever.
