Hillel HEAT Cage MTA LIONS, 73-40
- Updated: November 14, 2024
In a dominant display, the Hillel Heat cruised past the MTA Lions, securing a victory in a game defined by sharp shooting and relentless defense. Right from the opening tip, Hillel took control, setting the tone with a series of three-pointers that left MTA struggling to keep up. Eli Braha led the charge for the Heat, starting off hot with 10 points in the first quarter, using a mix of drives to the rim and precision from beyond the arc. Braha’s unstoppable rhythm continued throughout the game, as he racked up an impressive 27 points, firmly establishing himself as the driving force behind Hillel’s offense.
Complementing Braha’s scoring was Joey Kassin, who contributed 15 points and made his presence felt on both ends of the floor. Kassin was instrumental in transition, seizing opportunities to push the pace while also delivering a standout defensive performance, picking up multiple steals that thwarted MTA’s attempts to get back in the game. His relentless energy added another layer to Hillel’s overwhelming presence on the court.
Despite Hillel’s dominance, the MTA Lions showed flashes of resilience. Efraim Avramov provided a spark for MTA in the first quarter, knocking down a crucial three-pointer that gave his team a much-needed lift. Avramov finished the quarter with 8 points, doing his best to rally the Lions against Hillel’s early onslaught. Though MTA fought hard, they struggled to contain Hillel’s offense and found it difficult to close the widening gap.
The fourth quarter brought a bright moment for the Lions, as Yonatan Berman hit back-to-back threes, energizing the MTA bench and showing the team’s enduring spirit even as the game was out of reach. However, Hillel’s early lead and sustained pressure throughout the game proved insurmountable for MTA.
With a final score of 73-40 which reflected their control from start to finish, Hillel’s victory showcased the power of their offensive firepower and disciplined defense. Braha’s game leading 25 points and Kassin’s combined efforts underscored Hillel’s dominance, leaving little doubt about their readiness to continue their winning ways in the tournament. The MTA Lions were led by Efraim Avramov with 8 points in defeat.
