Montreal Heat Secures Fifth Place with 51-45 Win Over NSHA Lions
- Updated: November 17, 2024

The #7 Monreal Heat clinched a 51-45 victory over the NSHA Lions in a highly competitive Tier 1 Fifth Place game. Both teams gave their all on the court, but it was Montreal Heat’s balanced offensive attack and strong defensive efforts that ultimately gave them the edge in this exciting matchup.
The game got off to a fast start, with both teams looking to establish control. Montreal Heat was led by the dynamic duo of Simon Alloul and Yaacov Ohayon, who combined for 32 points. Alloul was the standout performer of the game, scoring 18 points, while Ohayon added 14 points to fuel the Heat’s offense. Their offensive contributions were pivotal in keeping Montreal Heat ahead as the Lions mounted a steady challenge.
Despite the Lions’ efforts, they struggled to find consistent scoring. Eli Bokhour and Jacob Cohen each contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively, for NSHA. However, their scoring efforts weren’t enough to overcome the Heat’s attack, as Montreal Heat’s defense was up to the task, particularly when it came to guarding the perimeter and shutting down the Lions’ transition game.
Montreal Heat’s balanced offensive performance was complemented by their bench contributions. Isaac Cons added 8 points, and Zac Levy chipped in 5 points, helping to keep the momentum on their side throughout the game.
The Lions kept it close throughout, but Montreal Heat’s strong team play ultimately led to their victory. With contributions across the board, the Heat secured their fifth-place finish with a final score of 51-45.
While NSHA showed resilience, they were unable to break through Montreal Heat’s defense when it mattered most. The Lions were led by Eli Bokhour’s 11 points, but the Heat’s overall depth and balance proved too much to handle.
As the Heat celebrate this hard-earned victory, their team-focused approach and standout performances suggest they’re ready to build on this result and come back even stronger for next year’s Invitational.
