MDY Warriors Edge Out Ohr HaTorah in Thrilling 45-43 Victory
- Updated: October 30, 2025
In a nail-biting matchup between the 7th-seeded MDY Warriors and the 10th-seeded Ohr HaTorah Thunder, the Warriors pulled off a narrow 45-43 win in a game that came down to the final seconds.
The first quarter ended in a 5–5 stalemate, with both teams trading baskets and playing tight defense. By halftime, Ohr HaTorah found their rhythm, taking a 22–19 lead behind the scoring of T. Levy (12 points) and Y. Perez (10 points).
In the third quarter, Ohr HaTorah extended their lead, showing strong offensive coordination from E. Zoldan (6 points) and S. Hayyim (6 points). However, MDY’s resilience began to show as they fought back with energy on both ends of the floor. A momentum-shifting block by S. Chira (2 points) ignited the Warriors’ comeback, cutting the deficit and reigniting their offense.
MDY’s scoring was balanced across their lineup. S. Movazeb led the team with 11 points, followed closely by S. Hara with 13 points, whose consistent shooting kept the Warriors in contention. I. Alfaks added 8, while M. Althkefati (4 points) and E. Braha (3 points) made key contributions in the second half.
Late in the fourth quarter, Ohr HaTorah’s T. Levy drilled a clutch three-pointer to tie the game at 43–43 with just 14 seconds left. But MDY held their composure — S. Movazeb stepped to the line and sank crucial free throws to put the Warriors ahead by two. Despite a last push from the Thunder, MDY’s defense held strong to seal the 45–43 victory.
The game showcased excellent performances from both sides — Ohr HaTorah’s top scorers Levy and Perez kept their team within striking distance, while MDY’s depth and late-game execution ultimately made the difference.
With this win, the MDY Warriors advance, proving that their combination of defensive grit and balanced scoring can overcome even the most intense pressure.
